Well, porsche is manufacturered in Europe, so it’s subject to a 6.1% duty when importing from US to Canada, at a pre-tax value of about $85,000, that’s $5,200, which would still leave savings to be had by importing from the US.
Doing some more research, I just checked out ebay motors and also myborderpro.com which estimates how much the imported car will cost with everything factored in (excluding PST and BC Luxury car tax), which is pretty neat, and very useful. I’ve found 2006 and 2007 cayman S that could be had for under $80,000 (with about 2,000miles on it)! That’s including duty, GST, PST etc… Getting one in Canada would cost me around $106,000 to a little over $110,000CAD depending on the options I chose, which I was even prepared to pay. For this amount, I could get a 911 model from the US. Now, well, let’s just say I have some shopping around to do!
